Mini course for future fire engineers

Published: 30 March 2017

Yesterday a group of high school students from all over Sweden visited Luleå University of Technology to take part in the mini-courses offered in different areas. Some chose to attend the fire engineers programmes mini course on The fire emergency response training area in Luleå.

"It was much appreciated. We tried extinguishing powder and water, and had to take it to a lecture on fire safety", says Anton Johansson, a student at the fire protection program, and a mini course organizers.

The Fire Protection Engineer Programme is only offered in two locations in Sweden and gives a broad expertise and many potential employers and jobs. Some study the additional year required for carrying out operational civil protection such as team leader in fires or accidents. Others go for private employers in such planning.

"We also had great luck with the weather, it was a beautiful winter spring day", says Anton Johansson.
