Second place in architectural competition

Anton Magnusson is doing his degree project in architecture at White Architects and has together with his colleague Hugo Hardell participated in the competition "Steel Race Reuse" which resulted in a prestigious second place. The competition task was to produce a proposal for an entrance portal to the architectural gallery 2019 in steel and with a clear connection to recycling.

SMASK winner with a "kick"

After great drama, it was clear that this year's winner of SMASK in Piteå was the contribution "A kick" with the artists Kjell-Ken and Bob. It was the second consecutive year that the students Kristoffer Töyrä and Oskar Lidström won the competition.

Students help orphanage in Tanzania with water supply

Igloo building in the middle of the campus

The students on the course snow and ice at Luleå University of Technology are working with building the snow igloo in the middle of the university campus in Luleå. The purpose of the project is to learn how to construct a snow building. The igloo is built using an inflatable igloo tent, which is 6 meters in diameter and 4.5 meters high and which is clad with snow to create a snow igloo. When the snow is frozen, the tent is emptied of air and removed.
