The Bergforsk and STRIM days 2019

This was the 15th edition of this mining conference that is arranged for academia, business, financiers and politicians. This year there was a great focus on sustainability and how the mining and metal industry will cope with that transition. The conference also offered panel discussions and awards ceremonies, as well as lectures on AI and block chains.

This year's theme is "Smart green mines". Topics like future challenges, sustainability, how to put people in focus and how to successfully bridge the opposing interests.

The Bergforsk Days 2015

On 2-3 June the Bergforsk Days 2015 was held with the theme; "Research and development environment in world class". How do we strengthen the research and innovation environment in mining and minerals in Sweden? The opening speaker was Jan Moström, Boliden and chairman of the The Bergforsk Foundation, and also the new CEO of LKAB after Lars-Eric Aaro.

The Bergforsk Awards 2013

Those who received scholarships for the best licentiate thesis, doctoral thesis and thesis during The Bergforsk Days 2015 were: Tommy Karlkvist, Lucile Villain and Elin Tranvik.

Bergforsk Scholarships 2014

It was the tenth anniversary of Bergforsk Days in years and the speakers came from very diverse industries. Among other things, gave the airline industry example of how they work with logistics. Automation, community impact and innovations are other examples of areas concerned and involved.

The Bergforsk Days 2013

The 27-28 was the annual Bergforsk Days in Festival Hall at The StadsHotel in Luleå. It was a compact program with many prominent guests.

Minister for Trade Ministry for Foreign Affairs Ewa Björling launches Nordmin

On Bergforsk days, 27-28 May the Minister for Trade Ministry for Foreign Affairs Ewa Björling launched NordMin, the Nordic Council of Ministers new research and education initiative in the mining and quarrying area. The mining area is growing and priority areas for cooperation which resulted in a joint Nordic Venture.

The Bergforsk Awards 2013

The Bergforsk Awards for best thesis, licentiate and doctoral thesis in 2013 was presented at the Stads Hotel in Luleå.
