The interest in using drones in the emergency services is increasing. The drone technique can be used to search bodies at drowning accidents, forest fires or for overview images in major accidents. Fire engineer Alexandra Olofsson at Luleå University of Technology has examined the legal possibilities for using drones for the emergency services in her thesis "Drones in the Swedish emergency services".

This year marks 10 years since the first admission to the fire protection program at Luleå University. The program has been very successful at employers and popular among students (36% of students are women), and has put Luleå University of Technology on the fire-scientific map.

An interesting thesis on informal demands on leaders in public safety organizations, presented last week at Luleå University. Peter Ludvigsson studying for Fire Protection, and he had chosen to study this sometimes hot potato in his thesis.
Approximately 30 students from the Fire Protection program at Luleå University was commissioned to investigate the fire safety Sunderby Hospital. Divided into smaller groups received the different departments in the hospital to study in detail. It was well briefed students from grade 2 who turned every stone from a fire safety perspective.
