Global Innovation & Business Development Internship
In the summer of 2020, four students at Luleå University of Technology will be able to conduct a unique and paid summer internship arranged in collaboration with LTU Business, University of Texas at Austin and Rune Anderssons Jubilee Foundation. The practice involves advanced learning, both remotely and on-site in Austin, in market-validating innovations with practical elements in the US market or other relevant markets (including BRIC countries). The focus of the program is on innovations from entrepreneurs from developing countries, and the work is done in close cooperation with the entrepreneurs themselves that are on site in Austin. At the end of the programme, the four participants from Luleå go to India to study the support system around entrepreneurs and early innovations to report this back in Luleå.
The programme runs from week 24 (June 8th) to week 29 (July 17. All travel expenses and salary, at the same level as CSN during the period are financed by Rune Andersson's Jubilee Foundation. To apply, you as a student should have completed at least 3.5 years of full-time studies on a master's programme and have great interest in innovation, product and service development and entrepreneurship. You should like networking and a way of working that combines analysis and creativity. Experience from consulting projects and international studies/jobs is meritorious.

The foundation's purpose/intention
The Rune Andersson Jubilee Foundation has the objective to create opportunities for students at Luleå University of Technology to undertake part of their training in countries with rapid economic development (for example China, India, with several). The aim is to give students at LTU opportunity to international studies and the Swedish business community the opportunity to recruit highly skilled employees in the future.
These scholarships are directed preferentially towards students in programs leading to jobs with strong elements of development and/or production of services or products
About Rune Andersson
Rune Andersson is the donor and founder of Rune Andersson Jubilee Foundation.
After M.Sc. from Chalmers university in Gothenburg Rune Andersson arrived to the Luleå University Collage as the first employee in 1971. He started his career in building up what became the Luleå University of Technology. He was the Administration manager of the university from 1971 to 1974. Subsequently, Rune Andersson worked in several companies including Plannja and Electrolux, but he is perhaps best known as the CEO of the industrial group Trelleborg in the 1980s.
Rune Andersson has gone from employee to entrepreneur and currently runs the business group Mellby Gård, a group consisting companies within industry and trade.
At the Luleå University of Technology's 40th anniversary in 2011 Rune Anderson established the Rune Andersson Jubilee Foundation as a way to inspire young students to by studies, especially in the BRIC countries, gain unique expertise for the benefit of future growth in the Swedish economy.
