Five inspiring book recommendations for business people and enterpreneurs

The holidays are over and now we begin a new business year again. We have asked our business developer at LTU Business for some good reading recommendations to help you find the inspiration to develop your company further in 2016 and 2017.

1. The Innovator's Dilemma by Clayton Christensen

Rumor has it that the Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, forces all his managers to read The Innovators Dilemmas. The book popularized the term disruptive technology, ie. innovations with a very strong force transforms the landscape for a whole market.

2. Business Adventures John Brooks

This book is a classic from 1969, and is both Warren Buffets and Bill Gates favorite book with the motto that technology is everchanging but that mankind stay the same.

3. Meditations of Marcus Aurelius

The Roman emperor Marcus Aurelius wrote  Meditations as a diary in the last decade of his ilfe, where he practised stoicisim to tackle the problems that the Roman Empire faced. Stoicism is about accepting that some things are out of control and focus on what can be changed and to exercise control over your own emotions.

When Marcus Aurelius was on his deathbed, he gave the order that the diary would be burned, but it was saved for posterity. And it was good luck, the book has been read for nearly 2000 years by generals, kings, entrepreneurs and leaders inspired by Aurelius approach to management.
