International data center network to Luleå

Published: 12 November 2018

Infrastructure Masons, one of the largest networks of major data center operators in the United States, opens an office in Luleå. Jeanette Nilsson at LTU Business will be in charge for the Nordic node.

- This network will contribute significant business contacts to our region. In the long run, it creates opportunities for new major IT establishments in northern Sweden, said Jeanette Nilsson, Project Manager in IT and Big Data at LTU Business AB.

Jeanette Nilsson will lead and be the contact person for the Nordic office. Infrastructure Masons is a collection of large data center operators and US suppliers that started in 2016. The purpose of the network is to make joint efforts to sharpen the industry's development globally and to address challenges such as providing skills, attracting more women to the industry, scholarships for education, and working for sustainable and more energy efficient data centers.

- My work is to organize activities aimed at strengthening the Nordic data center industry and inviting local businesses to new business opportunities, said Jeanette Nilsson, Project Manager in IT and Big Data at LTU Business AB.

An organization that has already become a member of Infrastructure Masons is the nationwide data center association in Sweden, Node Pole. They will drive sustainability issues for data centers, which is one of the key future issues within the network.
