Since 2013, LTU Business has run the Latitude 66 Mentorship development program, a close collaboration with Region Norrbotten, Sparbanken Nord, Längmanska Företagarfonden and Billerud Korsnäs. The purpose of the program is to contribute to the future of the region by providing companies and individuals with knowledge, networks and mentoring.
- I didn't have such great expectations but I always go into things with open eyes. I wanted to get a bigger network and find the right one in my own leadership.
Johanna Grimståhl describes that it was much more than she expected.
- It was a very good year. Most important to both myself and our company was my mentor who opened doors to new contacts, new knowledge and new tools that have become incredibly important. Today my mentor is both a customer and close partner to us, and we deliver knowledge to them.
For leaders who want to strengthen Norrbotten
A great challenge for all regions is in what way they take on their skills supply. Latitude 66 Mentorship is an example of a different approach to help develop Norrbotten's hearts, starting from the people behind everything.
The program is aimed at those who want to take the next step in their leadership but also have a desire to contribute to the future leadership in Norrbotten.
Time to reflect and create action
Investing time outside the office is valuable and something one should never underestimate means Johanna.
- I develop every day with my employees and owner partners. But there is more I want. I want to make contacts with people I otherwise do not meet and I want time to reflect and be inspired. One cannot wait to be inspired. You just have to do it.
Latitude 66 mentorship is a process over a year in which the participant meets other leaders and researchers who share the commitment to our region, in parallel with lectures and an own close work with their own mentor.
- The Latitude 66 Mentorship was perfect for me. I always try to live and lead the motto to constantly create action. We have to test to know what works. We do things with us, and we do it again when it does not get well. I think this is a good motto for all leaders and managers, and why not for the whole of Norrbotten as a region, says Johanna Grimståhl.
