The work includes a 10-week (BSC Bachelor) and 20 weeks of development (MSc - Master of Science) in the field of engineering design, ie development of ecologically, socially and economically sustainable products, processes, systems, environments and services with human needs and conditions in the downtown.
The thesis is an independent work which includes 1) a scientific work in the form of literature deepening and methodological support and 2) a practical development in the form of any iterative process of information gathering, contextual inquiry, creative development, prototype spirit / test solutions etc.
What results can you, as a company, expect:
Innovative ideas and solutions in product development in close cooperation with one or two students at the end of their training.
Guidelines for a cooperation
Students sit either at the company or at the university during the work. The company will convey a supervisor who supports the student in the work. All costs of the work the company is responsible for. Copyright of the result is the student unless otherwise agreed.
What is required of you as a company:
A project brief - an idea on what to do without locking the assignment of specific solutions and time to assist the student / student group with a supervisor and necessary information.
Examples of results from the previous rounds of the course:
About 60 students are examined in Industrial Design at the university each year and training has been around for over 30 years, so there is a large amount of examples of past performance. Some examples of these are:
- Design of a Braille printer for the blind and visually impaired, Braille Box company Index Braille, who was awarded one of the world's most prestigious design awards Red Dot Design Award.
- The development of a waste for recycling, together with the company Trece which also won a Red Dot Design Award
