The course is based on current school law, which requires that school education rests on scientific grounds and proven experience. The course focuses on teachers acquiring such knowledge that they can conduct research in the local school practice. The scientific theories and methods that form the basis of the course are adapted to such research, where the results can be used in the work for full goal achievement. The course thus becomes an important prerequisite for systematic quality work in school and for self-produced scientific knowledge. The goal is that teachers after completing the course will be able to conduct research whose results can be used in teaching.
The course addresses municipalities and schools where all teachers (in a school or in a municipality) together wish to create collective prerequisites for a scientific organization in the school that works in parallel with the didactic organization.
Teacher and course coordinator is Professor Tomas Kroksmark. Tomas has long experience of this type of school development and has been active in a large number of municipalities and schools. Most famous is the Gränna Model School, which increased target achievement from about 40 percent to close to 100 percent in five years. Tomas Kroksmark also has a network where shoe experts from China, Singapore, South Korea and Finland are included. More information is available at: www.tomaskroksmark.se
