Recipients of the fellowship were Emma Hedlund and Johanna Vesterberg who study Master Programme in Industrial and Management Engineering and Erik Andrén who studies Master Programme in Engineering Physis. They will use the scholarship for studies in Singapore. Axel Haapalahti studies Master Programme in Industrial and Management Engineering and will go to South Korea.

It was Vice President Birgitta Bergvall - Kåreborn who awarded the scholarship to the four students who now will study in Singapore and South Korea after the summer. The money, 30,000 per student, give the students an opportunity not just to study but also to experience the country's culture and geography.
– Please blog or write a travel book that you publish so that other students can read about what you experience so that they are inspired, said Birgitta Bergvall-Kåreborn.
The Rune Andersson Jubilee Foundation has the objective to create opportunities for students at Luleå University of Technology to undertake part of their training in countries with rapid economic development (e.g. the BRIC countries, Brazil, Russia, India or China or other countries with rapid economic development).
These scholarships are directed preferentially towards students in programs leading to jobs with strong elements of development and/or production of services or products.
Rune Andersson is the donor and founder of Rune Andersson Jubilee Foundation. After M.Sc. from Chalmers university in Gothenburg Rune Andersson arrived to the Luleå University Collage as the first employee in 1971. He started his career in building up what became the Luleå University of Technology. Rune Andersson runs the business group Mellby Gård, a group consisting companies within industry and trade.
