In media: Nature Activists nothing new

In Kallak west of Jokkmokk, have activists tried to prevent the British mining company Beowulf from conducting exploration of iron ore in the area. This is an old phenomenon which often has turned out well according to Calle Hansson, Senior Lecturer in sociology at LTU.

– There's historical examples of this kind of activism where the protests paid off, they managed to stop the expansion of Vindelälven, says Kalle Hansson, Luleå University of Technology to the local newspaper.
