Carlsson Sjöberg’s area of research is the planet Mars and in 2006 she released the book “Framåt Mars!” in the popular science genre, where she describes space travel in general as well as her own experiences from simulated landings on Mars. She was a part of a team as an engineer and navigator that spent four weeks in a pod on Devon Island in the arctic part of Canada. In 2007, Carlsson Sjöberg had contributed to an anthology about the Cosmos. She has been a visiting researcher at Space Sciences Laboratory in Berkeley, USA where she collaborated with researchers of NASA Ames Research Center. Carlsson Sjöberg also has a background in the Swedish Armed Forces as Officer in several different units.
