INVITATION FOR PHD CANDIDATES

ScAIEM Arctic PhD Workshop

The Scandinavian Academy of Industrial Engineering and Management provides the opportunity for PhD students to present their research proposals and work-in-progress papers in order to receive feedback from (at least) one senior discussants and peer opponents from the same session. The PhD Workshop will provide the equivalent to 3 ECTS credits.

The workshop comprises several parallel streams, the form includes a short presentation performed by the PhD students where they will be able to present their research papers, research plans or proposals.

The timeframe for the presentation will be of 15 min followed by 30 min of feedback and 10 min of questions.

ScAIEM Arctic PhD workshop welcomes two kind of paper submission:

  • The first invites research papers on any selected field in Industrial Management and Innovation and Design, it is suggested that the papers are highly related to their doctoral thesis topic or covering part of their thesis. It is important to receive satisfactory papers with a good theoretical and empirical frame, analysis results, and well-structured questions, because this will provide the opportunity to receive useful and more accurate feedback,
  • or
  • The second invites research plans or proposals that cover the intended rationale, scope, theoretical framing, and research questions of the doctoral students, particularly addressed to first-year students that are still outlining their research structure.

Please notice, that the presented papers can be submitted to scientific journal. (For this reason no full paper proceedings will be published of ScAIEM2016. Contributions will only be published at the abstract level.)

Instructions for finalizing the full papers will be offered for authors after the abstract deadline.
