The dissertation: Towards a Framework for Product-Service System Business Model Implementation, shows an impressive academic achievement where four of the articles have been published in the field's highest-ranked journals and have already been cited more than 500 times.
– In a world where the shift is increasingly going from pure product sales to complete service offerings, Wiebke Reim in her dissertation has shown, among other things, what processes companies need to go through to create value, understand customer behavior and manage risks. The result of her dissertation has also come to the concrete use of companies operating at global level. Wiebke's dissertation is of high scientific quality and we are very proud and pleased that the award is due to her, Christer Ljunggren, says, CEO of Vattenfall's Nordic hydropower operations.
The motivation for Vattenfall's prize 2019, to Wiebke Reim reads:
"Wiebke Reims thesis focuses on aspects such as value creation, risk management, customer behavior and global service delivery into a framework that gives companies a holistic view of their needs, to support their successful implementation of these new business models. Her thesis shows an impressive academic accomplishment as she managed to publish four articles in the top journals of the field and one more article submitted, still review. Her articles are not only well published, they have already made a big impact in the research field by being cited more than 500 times in last two-three years.
Besides the academic value of her thesis the findings have being presented and used by companies, such as Volvo construction Equipment, Komatsu Forest, and Gestamp Hardtech, in workshops and presentations with high appreciation. The further development of her findings and research areas have been input and basis to several successful research applications on national and international level. Besides research and publications, she has also been active in communicating her research to the broader society and is highly appreciate as a teacher both among colleagues and students."
Wiebke Reim has been a PhD student in the field of Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the Department of Industrial Economics and has been supervised by Vinit Parida, Professor of Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the Department of Business Administration, Technology and Social Sciences at Luleå University of Technology.
