Git-Marie Ejneborn Looi, researcher in Nursing at Luleå University of Technology, has identified various alternatives to coercive measures. Coercive measures are particularly common in the care of young women who self-harm. Studies show that the psychiatric care makes them feel worse and they believe that the care is counterproductive.
