For three weeks, they visited Luleå University of Technology, and took part in the teaching here. Cuc Lee Thi is a nurse and also a techer at Hanoi Medical University, Hmu, Ngoc Dam Minh is also a nurse and employee as a teacher at the university.
They are enthusiastic about the visit to Luleå in February. Among other things, they have taught nursing education, both in the classroom and in distance education.
– We only use video conferencing, it is not that flexible. Here you are good at using the technical possibilities, we take that with us, they say.
In addition, they have been able to be on the iceroad on teh Luleriver in the center of Luleå.
– We like the snow. An other day it was snowstorm, it was fantastic. We also enjoy the Swedish fika (coffe and caces).
Broaden perspectives
The collaboration has been going on since 2014. It is a way of internationalizing education. Students from Luleå University of Technology have the opportunity to do parts of their education abroad, including at Hanoi Medical University.
– The exchange promotes the opportunity for both students and teachers to broaden their perspectives and gain new inspiration, Päivi Juuso says, responsible for Linneaus-Palme collaboration in the Nursing Program.
Funding for the teacher exchange comes from the Linnaeus-Palme Partnership, which aims to promote an interest in working with development cooperation abroad, but also at home. It increases students' ability to work with global issues even after the end of their education. For teachers, collaboration provides added value in teaching.
