New interdisciplinary course in the health field
This autumn, a new, interdisciplinary postgraduate education course will start, which will be given at the Department of Health Sciences. All PhD students can apply for it. The starting point is the own research area.
– We take the health perspective from different perspectives. It will be implemented entirely online based, says Carina Nilsson, senior lecturer of nursing.
The aim of the course is to provide a health perspective also in research that is outside the traditional health sciences subjects.
– We will also hire Lennart Nordenfeldt, senior professor at Ersta Sköndal Bräcke University. He is a professor of the theory and ethics of health care, says Carina Nilsson, at Luleå University of Technology.
Three main aspects
The course includes three main aspects, health from a theoretical perspective, health from a global, national and regional perspective as well as health promotion measures and working methods.
– Although we are primarily aimed at postgraduate students, others are also welcome to apply for the course.
The course, which starts in the fall of 2020, is given in collaboration between Luleå University of Technology, the Region of Norrbotten and the municipalities of Norrbotten. Course coordinator is Carina Nilsson and examiner Professor Åsa Engström. The planning of the course has been done together with university lecturer Päivi Juuso, Professor Karin Zingmark Region Norrbotten and scientific leader Benitha Eliasson, Norrbottens kommuner.
