The division of nursing and medical technology is responsible for the Bachelor Programme in Nursing and Bachelor Programme in Diagnostic Radiology Nursing. Training is conducted at the undergraduate, advanced and postgraduate level. See training in links below.

Nursing is a science that aims to improve human health, prevent ill-health and illness, and restore and maintain health, alleviate suffering and safeguard human integrity and dignity. Key areas are human and health, environment and nursing care and processes related to these areas (read more in links below).
Medical Technology is a science in which technical, physical and mathematical methods are used to better describe the physiological function and to develop new methods for diagnostics, monitoring and disease treatment (read more in links below).
Postgraduate Diploma Programme in Specialist Nursing
Since the subject of nursing was established in 2004; the research within the Division of Nursing at the Department of Health Sciences, Luleå University of Technology, has focused on a number of research areas. A common focus of our research in the division are applied research, where the understanding of the person's needs at various health problems and how these can be prevented is important. The research also commonly have had a focus on understanding the ill person's life-world or daily life. Another focus is the importance of various health and nursing interventions, and what these means in the context of health care. At the Division of Nursing we are all nurses with master's degree in nursing and we possess pedagogical education. Many of us have a specialist nursing degree. In our division we have positions of professors, associate professors, senior lecturers, lecturers and / or PhD students.
Nursing can be studied as a separate course and it is also possible to study for a doctoral degree in Nursing
