Teacher exchange with India

Published: 17 May 2013

For over four years now we have an ongoing teacher exchange programme between the Physiotherapy Institute of Amity University Uttar Pradesh (AUUP), India, and the Physiotherapy programme at the Department of Health Sciences, LTU. This is now backed by a five-year Memorendum of Understanding, MoU.

Two teachers from AUUP, India, have recently visited the Health Sciences  from 27th April to 18th May 2013.

- We have had many meetings and discussions about how to co-develop and they have met students at the physiotherapy program who want to go to India. They have taught in Women's Health in India, had labs in cardiovascular and lung diseases, which are the most common health problem in India, says Anita Melander Wikman, lecturer in physiotherapy.

The teacher exchange is part of the Linnaeus-Palme program where five teachers from Health Sciences have been to India and taught and five of their teachers have taught in our program for physiotherapists here at Lulea.
- We hope that this will also lead to further student  exchange and  more institutions will see the opportunity to interact with Amity University, which has a profile similar LTU, says Anita Melander Wikman.
