Malin Olsson and Carina Nilsson, researchers in nursing at the Department Sciences, was invited by the provincial association osteoporotics in Norrbotten to mark the International Osteoporosis Day. 35 women with osteoporosis had gathered to take part of the University's study on osteoporosis.
Scientists talked about their project, which describe the needs of people with osteoporosis, how they arose, how they recover and what experience they have of health care.
– We talked about the study and when preliminary results are finished. The meeting gave us the opportunity to receive feedback, says Malin Olsson.
The women think it is important to describe their illness as it is not always visible on the outside. Also that they have a need to be taken seriously.
- It felt good and important to share their views, continues Malin Olsson.
