Student projects won entrepreneurial competition

Occupational Therapy Students Malin Bostrom and Elina Firouzfar participated in the largest entrepreneurial competition Venture Cup with its height adjustable curtain rod Easy Curtain. They took home prizes in both Phase Pitch and Phase Mission.

– It's great that we won. Now we are very excited to move on, says Malin Bostrom.

It was during the study section entrepreneurial approach that the idea for a adjustable curtain rod began to take shape. The result was the curtain rod Easy Curtain that even made them won the competition against their peers. The jury consisted of representatives from the Innovation Sluice North. They thought the idea was good and that the girls should continue working with the product.
– We have patent pending Easy Curtain because there is no one like this on the market. Right now we are starting a business. We want to develop this product, but also more products that make everyday life easier, says Elina Firouzfar.

They got tips on participating in the Venture Cup with their idea and they thought it would be exciting. Venture Cup is the largest competition for those wishing to develop their business idea and start a business. The competition is divided into three parts, and they chose to register for the Phase Mission and Phase Pitch.

Recently they received the news that they won in the Nord region of the Phase Pitch and also in Phase Business Idea in the category Human  and society. The price is 5000 dollars for each part.

– The money will be used to develop the product and the company, says Malin Bostrom.

Elina and Malin has also decided to also participate in the third contest Phase Business Plan that has deadline 11 November.
