- I do not want to sit in front of a computer al day long and I know that this nursing programme has a good reputation, so it was a high priority to get accepted here in Luleå.

This year, the programmes on the Department of Health Science broke a record in terms of number of applicants. Both undergraduate programs in nursing and physiotherapy program had 1,000 applicants per program, which is an increase of 30 percent from last year.

During the first day, students at the basic programmes got guided tours around the campus, met teachers and classmates to get a picture of the University, Department of health Science and the programs.

- We warmly welcome our new students for the following three years and it will be great fun to give them the knowledge and tools for their future careers, said Prefect Mai Lindstrom.
