English and Education is a research subject within the Department of Arts, Communication and Education. Students can study English as their main subject up to the BA level. Students can also study English in order to gain qualifications as infant, junior, secondary and high school teachers. The one year Master’s Degree offered by the Departmment of Arts, Communication and Education enables students to specialise in English and Education. It is open to both students who have majored in English and those who have qualified as teachers. It combines the study of the language with the study of language education.
It is also possible to study for a PhD in English and Education at Luleå University of Technology. Doctoral students can only be accepted at the university when positions are opened for competitive application. These positions are announced on LTU’s list of vacancies. Alternatively, applicants with their own funding can contact the professors directly to apply. (proof of four years of independent funding is required.)
Research within the subject of English and Education takes place in collaboration with other universities as well as across subject divides within LTU.
