Shorten the path to employment

Published: 2 April 2012

Now a new training session for the course "Short route" that will help educated immigrants into working life in Sweden.

For the second time around the national project "Short Road" is launched and, happily, all last year's participants in Luleå have been employed.

The project is an education initiative aimed at foreign academics and training includes theoretical subjects and practice. The idea is for participants to gain deeper knowledge in Swedish, among other things, history and social studies and also get help finding an internship in their professional field, which ultimately can lead to employment. Here in Norrbotten there's a collaboration between Employment Service and Centek and training goes for the third consecutive year. Swedish teaching of the course conducted by two teachers from the institution KKL at LTU.
