The availability of renewable energy at a competitive price and efficient energy systems with a high level of security of supply are important prerequisites for future sustainable growth.Our vision is to work together with industry and stakeholders within society to create an internationally leading research and innovation environment in order to demonstrate a long-term sustainable energy system.

2018–2019, was a strategic effort done to strengthen research in the field of health at Luleå University of Technology. The goal was to increase clustering, positioning, visibility and external financing. The initiative will also continue in 2020, with funding from the Department of Health Sciences.
