PQi - New industry standard for quality measurement of construction projects

Published: 23 March 2021

Per Erik and Johan Larsson at the division for industrial and sustainable construction have participated in a client magazine focusing on project quality. A total of 26,500 copies have been distributed as an appendix to the industry magazine Byggvärlden.

“Our hope is that this magazine will stimulate the debate about the need to raise project quality in the construction sector”, says Johan Larsson, senior lecturer at Luleå University of Technology.

Below you can take a look at the theme magazine (in Swedish) that opens the door to better construction projects. Here you get inspiration and advice that will help you increase the project quality with the help of measurements and key indicators.

The purpose of this magazine is both to raise project quality on the agenda and to market the new quality measurement tool PQi that the researchers have been involved in developing. This standardized quality measurement, which is an important feature of the magazine, intends to help individual projects in their improvement work as well as to creating comparable industry data for knowledge dissemination and industry development.

“It is important for us researchers to get involved in industry-relevant challenges. To help develop Binosight's new tool PQi for measuring construction projects, was therefore of great interest. In the long run, the idea is that we will help the industry with analyzes at an aggregate level in order to be able to take the pulse of the industry and its projects”, says Per Erik Eriksson, professor at Luleå University of Technology.

The development of the new quality measurement tool PQI has been conducted by Binosight in collaboration with the client organization Byggherrarna and researchers from Luleå University of Technology. With this triple helix collaboration, the new quality measurement has been able to be quality assured from both a theoretical and practical perspective. If you are interested in knowing more about quality measurement and the developed tool PQi, please contact one of the researchers.
