
Headhunting - Companies meet our students
Industry Night at the Division of Mining and Geotechnica. No less than nine companies got in touch within 2 hours to book up for this evening. More than 100 students mingled with company representatives. The evening ended with dinner.

Many LTU alumni had contacted him to come and present their business, prospects and exciting project. Soil and rock industry has great need for new skills.
Students came from at the Master Programme in Civil Engineering, Natural Resources Technology, Higher Education Diploma Programme in Works Management in Civil Engineering and Higher Education Diploma Programme in Works Management in Civil Engineering.

The labor market is good now shown by the interest among participating companies. But how does it look for 4-5 years?
Thomas Dalmalm, Swedish Transport Administration: - Today seeking currently several specialists in the fields of Geotechnical Engineering, Rock Engineering and sanitary engineering. Many projects are being implemented over time, while we have large numbers of retirements. Transport Administration also has a strategy consultant to switch, that is, reduce the proportion of consultants and increasing the proportion of employees.

Erik Storvall currently working on his masters thesis in rock mechanics for Boliden and is finished with his training in June. How did it go tonight, you have a job waiting?
- It was a great night, said Erik. I have ongoing discussions with several companies. Things are looking bright, he concludes.
