Increased cooperation with Iraq
Professor Fadhil Rasin the dean of the college of Science at Baghdad University (BUCS) visited Lulea University of Technology on the 25th April, to discuss scientific cooperation between Lulea University of Technology and Baghdad University.
This visit was held in accordance to the memorandum of understanding signed between Lulea University of Technology and Baghdad University signed on November 2, 2010 for scientific cooperation.
During his visit Professor Fadhil Rasin met several persons, among them professors Alberto Vomiero and Nadhir Al-Ansari.
– The purpose of the visit was to promote the exchange of graduate students with scholarships from Baghdad University and enable PhD students registered at Baghdad University to get to Luleå University to do research. Fadhil Rasin also asked the university to help organize special training programs for staff and students, and implement joint research programs, says Nadhir Al-Ansari, Professor in Soil Mechanics and expert on the dam in Mosul.
Professor Rasin also had a meeting with some of the Iraqi students who already graduate at Luleå University of Technology and they made short presentations about their research. Professor Rasin also visited some laboratories.
