Student in focus: Jesper Johansson
Meet Jesper Johansson who is conducting his last semester at the Master Programme in Architecture with a particular focus on House Building.
Jesper’s interest in architectural visualizations began two and a half years ago when Jesper started learning rendering programs alongside his studies after the course CAD and VR. With the development of digitalization, construction industry is undergoing a digital revolution. The recent technological advances in digital architectural visualization has broadened the knowledge and opportunities to reach out to the public about planned construction projects. Nevertheless, only simpler visualization techniques such as still image renderings are usually used today.

The work focuses on how different visualizations technologies could increase public awareness of construction projects. "What information is important to communicate?", "What do people focus on in a design?" or "How can a visualized design engage and create value for the public in a construction project?". Jesper will investigate these questions by analyzing several different visualization techniques, with the aim of looking at how information about construction projects could be disseminated in an accessible way to the public. The benefit of understanding and being able to apply visualization techniques to the public is expected to facilitate the sharing of information with the public about planned construction projects. Jesper is writing his master’s thesis in collaboration with Stark Arkitekter.
