Muhammad Tariq is a new employee and Ph.D. student. As part of his PhD, he is part of the Sustainable Underground Mining (SUM) Academy Program.
What are you going to work on?
The project aims to have a sustainable operation at LKAB by improving mine’s productivity and efficiency through Dynamic Loading Control (DLC). My part would be to improve and upgrade the already built loading control model and develop a draw control strategy adaptable to different mining conditions and areas.
Tell us a little about your background
I belong from a very small village in Hunza, Pakistan. Did my Bachelors from University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore and Masters of Professional Engineering(Mining) from The University of Western Australia,Perth. Before my Masters I worked in the exploration sector for more than 3 years and afterwards worked on Mineral Cadastre System with a local university in my hometown.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I love hiking,trekking and playing soccer. Also, like cooking and watching movies in my free time.
