Swedish research front at wetlands conference ICWS 2022
In early November, the PhD candidates Rasmus Klapp and Mashreki Sami went by train and plane to the international ICWS 2022 conference on wetlands for water pollution control in Lyon, France to present their research and take part of international results.
Mashreki Sami was one of the speakers in the conference and presented his study on how microplastics in greywater can be removed with a green wall, i.e. a vertical configuration of plants with different filter materials that are loaded with greywater.
Rasmus Klapp presented his ongoing research on how a reedbed wetland system can treat raw wastewater in cold climate, and how well it treats microplastics.
Representing Stormwater&Sewers, Inga Herrmann also participated in the four-days conference that was beautifully situated in central Lyon. Yet, one of the days was reserved for technical tours to various wetland treatment systems in the area.
