New employees in Mining and Rock Engineering

A warm welcome to our new colleagues. The research subject Mining and Rock Engineering is involved in many new and interesting research projects.

We now have our new colleagues on site who will work together with our senior researchers in several new projects.

"We intend to develop new ideas with relation to teaching in mining"

Weronika Sredniawa is a new employee and a Senior Research Engineer in Mining and Rock Engineering at Luleå University of Technology.

"The project aims to have a sustainable operation at LKAB"

Muhammad Tariq is a new employee and Ph.D. student. As part of his PhD, he is part of the Sustainable Underground Mining (SUM) Academy Program.

"The goal is to develop a numerical modeling process to predict blast-induced cracks"

Carlota Rodriguez San Miguel is a new employee and Ph.D. student. Her research topic consists in numerical modeling of blast-induced damage around rock tunnels.

"I have practical work experience in mining and geoengineering sectors"

Jenni Hooli is a new employee and working with the European Union funded project called NEXGEN-SIMS (Next Generation Carbon Neutral Pilots for Smart Intelligent Mining Systems).

"I have several years of mining industry experience"

Tawanda Zvarivadza is a new employee and a part of a team of LTU and Swedish Mining Industry researchers working on a project to develop destressing strategies for mining under highly stressed conditions in the deep mines of Sweden.
