Summer School of the European Membrane Society (EMS) 2022

At the end of May 2022, Saida Kaykhaii participated in the 37th Summer School of the European Membrane Society (EMS) held in Alentejo, Portugal, this time. Students and experts from different countries working with membranes in different applications came together for discussions, exchange of knowledge and experiences.

The overall theme of the summer school this year was membrane technology and the four natural elements: earth, air, water and fire. The topics discussed included water treatment, bioprocess technology, energy processes, membrane development, module design, etc. These areas can relate to the use of membranes to protect our environment consisting of four main elements: air, water, soil and fire.

- The summer school was a great opportunity to meet experts in the field of membranes and broadened my knowledge about the application of membranes in different industries as well as the impact of membranes on our daily lives, says Saida.
