Suna will carry out a number of sampling events on stormwater recipients in three localities with different population density in Sweden to detect the impact of stormwater runoff on the receiving water body quality. The samples will be analyzed for microplastics, metals, nutrients, PAHs, PFAs, Phthalates, organotin compounds, alkylphenols, and several support parameters, namely pH, conductivity, turbidity, and suspended solids.
Also, she will be working on an interdisciplinary project that aims to investigate different scenarios for sustainable stormwater management with blue-green infrastructure. Her role in this project will be to set up a model to analyze the scenarios regarding water quality.
Suna holds an Master of Science in Environmental Engineering with focus on environmental modeling and water resources from Drexel University, Philadelphia, USA. Her master's studies included incorporating effective watershed management policies in the modeling environment to estimate the availability of water resources under changing land use and climate in the Schuylkill River Watershed.
