Utsaw Adhikari new PhD in Urban Water Engineering
Utsav Adhikari joined the Urban Water Engineering group at Luleå University of Technology as PhD candidate in May 2022
. During his PhD project, he will create numerous Blue Green Infrastructure scenarios (BGI) for selected urban sub-catchments in two Swedish cities, Malmö and Östersund, and analyze their flood potential using computer models. The model used to perform these water quantity assessments will mainly be SWMM.
Utsav completed his undergraduate studies at Kathmandu University in Nepal, earning a Bachelor of Technology in Environmental Engineering. He then finished his master's degree in Infrastructure and Environmental Engineering at Chalmers University of Technology. For this master thesis, he evaluated the effectiveness of blue green infrastructures in Lerum Municipality, Sweden, using a hydrodynamic model. Utsav has also worked professionally in Nepal for three years as a water engineer.
