Vatten Avlopp Kretslopp 2022

Published: 18 March 2022

The national conference VAK (Vatten Avlopp Kretslopp) was held on March 16-17 2022 with more than 420 participants who followed the presentations online.

The conference combined live broadcast and recorded lectures. It was also possible to ask the experts about small sewers, stormwater and water and sewerage planning. The conference program focused on what is currently ongoing in the urban water area and how the future looks like, as well as practice and law regarding water systems.

Inga Herrmann and doctoral student Brenda Vidal gave two presentations on the sampling of small sewers and results from the On-Site project which deals with the function of mini treatment plants in cold climates. Lian Lundy and Godecke Blecken also gave presentations on stormwater pollution and field sampling of "new" substances - microplastics and organic micro-pollutants - in stormwater infrastructure such as ponds and biofilters. Elisabeth Kvarnström pointed out some knowledge from the MACRO 3 project regarding cost-benefit analysis of source-sorting sewage systems in urban new construction.
