Do not miss the chance to become a technical - climate expert this autumn

Published: 1 March 2022

This autumn, you have the opportunity to study a completely new civil engineering education with a climate focus that meets the future needs of the global market. Major investments are made in technology for the green transition in northern Sweden and you get a variety of opportunities to be part of the events center during your studies.

- You become a technical problem solver and get tools to not only understand the effects of climate change but also create concrete solutions. You learn to develop new technology that meets the requirements for the green transition and you get a good understanding of the technical, social and economic aspects that affect it, says Andreas Larsson, professor and teacher of physics at Luleå University of Technology.

The education is adapted to be in phase with the latest research and technology. You will learn to implement climate-smart technology from the individual and household level to the societal and global system level. You also get tools to be able to develop and research new climate-smart technology from the nano- to industrial level. The program's students are prepared to actively participate in this development and be the coordinator for this entire chain in their workplaces. The fact that the university is located in the north, where climate change is most noticeable, also makes the need for change more visible and obvious.

- The labor market of the future will have a craving for the type of skills that students have, not only because of their technical knowledge but also because they will be able to act in many different roles. You can become everything from manager to specialist in an area, says Andreas Larsson

After the education, you can work in many different industries and roles. The ongoing green transition makes your skills in demand and you can thus choose the industry and focus that suits you. You can work with everything from project management and technical expert to continue with research and development. You will be an important part of the work to find innovative solutions to the climate challenges facing society.
