The University hosted the SVC conference

Luleå University of Technology hosted the SVC days in mid-May 2017. The Swedish Hydropower Centre is a center for education and research in hydropower and mining dams.

The conference was started by Vice-Chancellor Erik Höglund, who held a lecture about Luleå University of Technology. Sara Sandberg from the Swedish Energy Research Centre, and SVC's District Manager for Hydropower, talked about SVC's activities.

From Vattenfall, Fredrik Engström talked about challenges for hydropower and Niklas Dahlbäck held a session on water turbines and generators in SVC. Maria Bartsch from Svenska Kraftnät, in turn, held a session about water construction in SVC.

The first day also included a series of lectures on current research projects by researchers at LTU, KTH, Chalmers and UU. In the evening there was dinner at Clarion Hotel Sense.

A different type of agenda was offered during day two with study visits at different labs as well as a workshop for performers (academy) and a workshop for clients (business and government).
