Om mig
I am a Specialist Nurse in Palliative Care, and an industrial PhD student at Luleå University of Technology (LTU). I am employed by Region Norrbotten, where I work 20% as the County Coordinator for Palliative Care. I live in Piteå with my sons, but I grew up in a small village in the municipality of Älvsbyn. I completed my undergraduate nursing education at Umeå University and have worked as a registered nurse since 1997. Over an eight‑year period, I worked with Médecins Sans Frontières (Läkare utan Gränser) in several volunteer missions, primarily in East Africa. My work focused mainly on rural contexts and issues related to access to health care. In Sweden, my professional background is primarily within specialized palliative care, including both inpatient care and palliative consultations.
Since February 2024, I have been one of eight doctoral students in the Person-centred and Integrated Care Research School (Nära vård forskarskola), a collaboration between Region Norrbotten and Luleå University of Technology. My PhD project focuses on Person-centred and Integrated end-of-life care in sparsely populated rural contexts, and three of the four studies employ a participatory action research approach.
