The commercialization ambassadors at Luleå University of Technology organized organized a first meeting to raise awareness of the commercialization and development of business ideas at LTU on Thursday.

- Our university sits on a large amount of expertise. Our focus is applied research and the results we produce often leads to new products. We want to expand that way of thinking further, says Peter Parnes, commercialization ambassador for the Department of Computer science, Electrical and Space Engineering.

The response was good and 25 to 30 people came and showed their interest. The meeting was held at the restaurant Uni:k, and visitors were treated to a dish of anti-pasta. Three speakers accounted for the evening's inspiration, Fredrik Öhrn from Taxijakt!, Peder Nordström from BehavioSec and Stefan Lundblom from Innovationsbron.

- It was a resounding yes, to the question if we should have more meetings. We heard some interesting ideas that could lead to new businesses, says Peter Parnes, commercialization ambassador for the Department of Computer science, Electrical and Space Engineering.

The group that is called Startup Luleå is jointly organized by LTU's commercialization ambassadors, Centek, ABI and InternetBay.

Next meeting is scheduled to be organized in about 4-6 weeks.
