Creaternity Graduate School
Doctoral students from all over Luleå University of Technology participate in Creaternitys Graduate School because it is important to create a holistic view in order to be able to tackle the sustainability challenges. The graduate school includes courses and other activities to provide doctoral students with knowledge and tools to be able to determine how the Earth's resources are used in the best way.
Luleå University of Technology's initiative Creaternity with hundreds of researchers in 25 different research subjects starts a new graduate school. Here, as a doctoral student, you get the chance to become the spearhead and, together with world-leading researchers, develop innovative solutions for the new circular economy with, among other things, artificial intelligence, telecommunications and sensor technology.
The wear and tear era is over. What increases the competitiveness of the industry of the future is to succeed in designing a product, for example a car that can be recycled, upgraded and reused time and time again. The Creaternity research initiative is about enabling circular economy by reusing materials and products such as machine components, clothing, electronics, white goods, vehicles and even space debris. Circular economy and a sustainable society require completely new, and perhaps some "new-old", creative innovative solutions, which span across subject boundaries. It is the new graduate school within Creaternity that will form the basis for this at Luleå University of Technology, and you can be part of that investment.
All proposals for doctoral projects calls to the graduate school come from researchers who are involved in Creaternity. The doctoral students in the graduate school are connected to various research groups and research projects where disciplines in both technology, social sciences, and the humanities collaborate. Those who lead the graduate school together have many years of experience in leading graduate education, among other things through industry-leading national graduate schools.
It is the various research projects that govern what profile the candidates for the graduate school need to have. What is exciting is the breadth of the projects, which range from more efficient batteries, fibre composites to recycling of space debris and new business models. Above all, it is doctoral students with great personal drive and a willingness to share their ideas that are needed when Creaternity aims for groundbreaking research results in circular economy and sustainability.
