Bio4Energy

The vision is to create environmentally sound and sustainable biorefinery processes with a minimum of environmental pollutants. It is of great importance that the feedstock is used as efficiently as possible and that waste products and surplus of energy can be used for other processes.

An environmental approach

The researchers will convert biomass ashes and sludges from being problematic to valuable liming and fertilizing material. High-temperature processes will be utilized where the materials are refined from heavy metals and toxic organic compounds.

Another area with high potential in the constellation is CO2-capturing and recycling. Novel techniques for capturing and reuse of CO2 via catalysis are in progress.
