Barents Tourism Workshop at Campus Piteå.

Depaertment of Art, Communication and Education in Piteå is on 9-10 November hosted an international workshop on the "The BART Public-Private Partnership in the Barents Tourism", a Kolarctic project involving 12 partners from Norway, Sweden, Finland and Russia in the Barents region.

The project aims to contribute to regional and economic development in the Barents Sea by strengthening public-private partnership in tourism development in the area. Some 30 delegates will meet for two days and report commissioned by the project that at this point is a recognition of academic research and training in tourism development and good examples of public-private collaboration in research. In addition, inventories of non-academic tourism education and MICE industry (Meetings - Incentives - Congress - Exhibitions / Events) within the region are presented.
During the conference, although some local MICE organizers to visit such as Studio Acusticum, Rödberg Fort in Boden and Treehotel in Harads..
Swedish partner in the BART is a teacher and researcher in the experience of production of the Division of media, audio engineering and production experience at KKL.
The workshop is the second in a series of four in the project. The first was in Rovaniemi and the next will be in Kirkenes.
The project also involved students in the program experience production by the industry inventory interviewing companies in the Swedish Lapland. The students were accompanied by students from other partners in an introductory course in interview methodology in Rovaniemi to harmonize the students' efforts in the project. The part is an element of students' tourism course which was much appreciated.
