Upper secondary school works with VR

Published: 19 March 2008

2008-03: During two weeks three students from the Upper secondary school NTI visited our division for Workplace Education. Their assignment was to implement headtracking, a function that traditionally only exists in expensive VR systems.

Using Wii for VR research

Traditionally, systems for head tracking has been very expensive, but the researcher Johnny Lee från Carnegie Mellon came up with the idea to use the hand control from the Wii game system to calculate the position of the head.

Our assignment to the students Anton Wennberg, Jan Abrahamsson och David Stenberg was simple; "Implement the head tracking withe the Wii control and document everything on YouTube".
