2008-10: Dr. William Cockayne and Tamara Carleton from Stanford University's Center for Foresight and Innovation visited Luleå University of Technology to give a two-day workshop entitled "From Foresight to Design". The workshop gave participants a new set of tools for and experience in long-range innovation for developing strategic business opportunities. They explored critical foresight, anticipatory research, and comprehensive design within teams and identified prospects for increasing the level of innovation in the participant's respective businesses. Multiple exercises enabled hands-on learning, with examples drawn from a wide array of industry studies and on-going projects at Stanford University.

The workshop in Luleå was performed with 20 participants from the Faste Laboratory's academic and industrial partners. During the upcoming week, a similar workshop will be held within PIEp and Volvo Group.

If you are interested in knowing more about the workshop, please contact Andreas C. Larsson at the Division of Functional Product Development.
