Karriärplaneringskurs för doktorander och juniorforskare

Career Center anordnar tillsammans med Grants Office en exklusiv föreläsningsserie i karriärplanering för doktorander och juniorforskare. Detta är ett led i att förbereda doktorander inför övergången från student till arbetsmarknad. Föreläsningsserien ges på engelska, anmälan sker på nedan länk och det är begränsat antal platser. Varmt välkomna!

All lectures will be given in English.

Dates: Tuesdays,  October 2 – November 27 (8 weeks)

2 October: Career Planning

  • Introduction to the course
  • Career styles, Labour market, Employability, Transferable skills, Personal branding, and employer expectations.

9 October: Goal-Setting

  • Setting professional objectives for your brand and your career, examining both short and long-term goals, SMART goals.

16 October: CVs and Résumés

  • What to include and not include in your CV and your résumé and how to get noticed by recruiters.

23 October: Cover Letter

  • What to include in a cover letter to market yourself for a particular job.

6 November: Social Media

  • Managing your digital presence depending on where you want to work and in relation to others in your field.

13 November: Elevator Pitch

  • How to pitch yourself and your research and presentation skills​

20 November: Job Interview and Salary Negotiation

  • What to prepare and how to handle various interview questions as well as what questions to ask the recruiter.

27 November: Presentation Workshop

  • Final presentations and feedback
 

This course is offered free of charge and awards 3 points (after authorization from the supervisor). A certificate of course completion will be given to all who complete the course and homework assignments.

Requirements for course completion:

  • Attendance at lectures (1p)
  • Completion of homework assignments (1p)
  • Final presentation and providing feedback to others (1p)
