Inspirational lectures of this year's honorary doctors
An architect, a doctor and a statistician. The faculties' choice of honorary doctors for 2017 were Jenny B Osuldsen, Jan Lexell and Geoffrey Vining.
The honorary doctor's lectures offered interesting and inspiring stories, relating to the past, present and the future.
Jenny B Osuldsen is an architect and partner in the world-renowned architectural firm Snøhetta, and her presentation was titled gestaltning med tillhörighet i landskaps- och arkitekturkoncept.
Jan Lexell, senior doctor at Skåne University Hospital and Professor of Rehabilitation Medicine at Lund University, held a lecture titled a person in motion, a movement in time.
Geoffrey Vining is Professor of statistics at Virginia Tech University in the United States and his lecture had the title the importance of quality for the future.
As honorary doctors, individuals are chosen who in some way benefited research or education at the university. It is part of the university's strive for openness and contacts outside the research community.
