He is motivated by feeling that the research issues he addresses are related to current topics, such as circular economy. Today, he leads part of the EU project DigiPrime where 36 parties want to improve the opportunities for reuse and recycling of composites, textiles, batteries and electronics in the automotive industry with the help of digital tools.
Ulf Bodin, born in 1968 in Örnsköldsvik, defended his dissertation in 2003 at Luleå University of Technology with a dissertation on internet technology and how data is sent on the internet with a predetermined quality. This is something he is extra proud of in his career, as he describes that it was not obvious to become a doctor for him who comes from a family where no one has previously studied at the university.
Searching for solutions where there is no knowledge or answer drives him to continue his work, and his dream is to find a solution that has a broad impact in industry and strengthens Europe's competitiveness. In addition to carpentry in his spare time, he appreciates the Norrbotten archipelago, preferably on a sailboat.
