– It happened a lot at once and everyone wanted to talk to you. This is not something we will encounter every day, but it is very good to experience in the education, said Emma Björk, a specialist nurse with a focus on ambulance care and acted as a healthcare leader at the accident site.
During the staged accident, students get to know what it is like to be in a stressful environment while being able to lead, organize, prioritize and take the best action when several people suffered a major accident.
The students were judged on the basis of different criteria where ambulance nursing students would lead and distribute the work of the accident while intensive care and anesthetic students took care of the injured.
The rescue service also participated in the practice of a fire truck and five firefighters, who practiced cutting up car roofs and supporting the efforts at the site.
